What fabrics are safe for the newborn baby skin?

Very often I'm asked about the safest fabrics for the baby, and it is no coincidence that most of the newborn clothes are made out of cotton, the reason for that is that some other fabrics that contain synthetic materials and wool can easily irritate or feel very uncomfortable to the baby's sensitive skin.

When looking for baby clothes try to use 100% cotton fabrics, it is naturally hypoallergenic, stretchy and won't irritate your baby's skin; and and if your grandma, mom or even yourself want to knit a little outfit for the little one, make sure the yarn is specifically treated and safe for baby.

Also, for the first three months you want to make sure to wash all your baby's clothes before he uses them for the first time, event if they are brand new, use mild detergents like Dreft, Tide Free or Ivory Snow and set the washer on the double rinse cycle.

In Swanky Blooms, all of our baby bouquets and gifts are made of 100% combed cotton, being combed makes them even softer on the sensitive baby skin, so you can buy with confidence knowing that your gift is not only adorable, but also safe and comfy for the baby, and that's something mom will thank you for.
